It’s Ladies Night/Dance Music Night with the Vinyl Preservation Society of Idaho!
The Vinyl Preservation Society of Idaho will hold its May meeting from 7 to 10 p.m. Wednesday, May 27, at the Modern Hotel and Bar (1314 Grove St.) in downtown Boise’s Linen District. The meeting is free and open to the public (21 and older please). Bring your records!
The theme for the evening is Ladies Night/Dance Music Night. Fellas, if you have a special lady in your life, bring her to the meeting; if you are a special lady, this night is for you. Members and guests are encouraged to bring their favorite dance music to share with the group. What qualifies as dance music? Anything you like dancing to – funk, techno, sock-hop rock, whatever. Bring it with you and don’t forget your dancing shoes.
Joining VPS at the Modern will be members of the Boise dance troupe the Trey McIntyre Project, who will be celebrating the unveiling of TMP-themed drinks created by Modern bartender extraordinaire Michael Bowers. Earlier this year, TMP asked 12 Boise artists to interpret the members of the company in their chosen medium in the form of “portraits” for the “9+1″ project. In Bowe
rs’ case, that meant creating dancer-inspired drinks that will debut at the Modern bar the night of our meeting.
